Michael Jackson will finally be laid to rest at Holly Terrace Grand Mausoleum in Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park near Hollywood tonight, in a private ceremony where only friends and family are allowed to attend.
Michael Jackson’s close friends, Diana Ross, Motown founder Berry Gordy, Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight, who is also scheduled to perform, will all be there. No cameras are allowed.
The death of the king of pop, who allegedly died from "intravenous injection by another" on June 25 at his home is Los Angeles, has been ruled a homicide by the LA County coroner. But the investigation has not yet been conclusive and no charges have been made.
Michael Jackson’s doctor, Conrad Murray, who treated him for insomnia, is under investigation for manslaughter. Dr. Murray released a video a few weeks ago in which he claims his innocence: "I have done all I could do. I told the truth, and I have faith that truth will prevail."
The star had been rehearsing for his upcoming concert series at the 02 Arena in London when he tragically passed away, leaving his mother Katherine Jackson in charge of his three children, Prince, Paris and Blanket.
The funeral is set to start at 7PM this evening.
